- Preheat the oven to 350F/176C. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. scrape down the sides.
- Mix in flour. knead until the dough forms.
- Roll dough ¼-inch thick on a surface dusted with flour. cut out rounds or your favorite shaped cookies.
- Another variation is to roll the dough into a cylinder shape, wrap in a plastic wrap and freeze for 30 minutes, then slice the dough into ¾ round.
- Bake the cookies for 16-18 minutes or until pale golden in color.
- Cool on a wire rack.
