5 minute chocolate cake (sugar free & flourless)

This chocolate cake is made with simple ingredients you likely already have at home and comes together entirely in the microwave—no oven needed! It’s rich, soft, and perfectly sweet without any added sugar. It’s a great option for a quick and healthier dessert with no flour required.

  • Bananas – 2 large ripe bananas work best for sweetness and moisture.
  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder – A high-quality cocoa powder like Hershey’s will give your cake that rich chocolate flavor.
  • Baking Powder – This helps the cake rise and become light and fluffy.
  • Eggs – 2 large eggs help bind everything together and provide structure to the cake.

Instructions

  • Prepare the Bowl: Grease a microwave-safe bowl (around 6 inches) with a little oil to prevent sticking.

  • Blend the Ingredients: In a blender, combine the ripe bananas, eggs, unsweetened cocoa powder, and baking powder. Blend until smooth and well combined.

  • Pour into the Bowl: Pour the blended batter into the prepared microwave-safe bowl.

  • Microwave: Microwave on high for 5 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean.

  • Cool and Frost: Let the cake cool for a few minutes. Optionally, you can frost the cake with chocolate ganache by melting ¼ cup of chocolate chips with 2-3 tablespoon of heavy cream.
